Mastopexy with prosthesis, also called mammoplasty or a breast lift, changes the appearance of the breasts by lifting and repositioning (and, if necessary, shrinking) them, and the areolas get relocated to an ideal position, reshaping the breasts and their contour.
Mastopexy with implants, also called a mammoplasty or breast lift, changes the appearance of the breasts by lifting and repositioning them (and, if necessary, reducing them) and the areolas are relocated to an ideal position, remodeling the breasts and their contour. It is currently one of the most performed surgeries in our clinic here in Brasília. Besides just treating the breast flaccidity and removing the skin, we currently perform what we call a structured Mastopexy, in other words, we treat and remodel the breast, making muscular supports and internal structures for greater stability of the silicone’s implants in the breast. In the Mastopexy we perform all the steps and safety techniques of the breast surgery: silicone’s implants with all the safety protocol, funnel, muscular support loop, grip plane, internal bra, and then, at the end of this surgery, we treat the breast flaccidity by removing the excess skin (mastopexy).
Breast Surgery without implants produces elegant and natural results and is also a very sought-after surgery. Both the breast reduction surgery for cases of large or giant breasts (Breast reduction), as well as in cases of flaccid and drooping breasts, we can perform a mastopexy or mammoplasty without implants.
Which is better? With or without implants ? A very frequent question that we have no way of answering. It is impossible to say! What we can say is that the results are different. In the mastopexy, without a implants, the results will be more natural and with less marking of the breast, but with the advantage of not having a silicone’s implants.
"Short scar" is a technical concept used in the search for smaller scars ("Short Scar") and a better definition of the mammary cleavage ("Neckline" / Breast cleavage). Not all patients will have small scars from a mastopexy, but these concepts help us to reduce the scars as much as possible.
